FAQs
IVF
In vitro fertilization is a type of assistive reproductive technology. This process includes a few steps. The first step of this process is ovarian stimulation then egg retrieval from ovaries. After egg retrieval, sperm are collected for fertilization, then the embryo is transferred to the uterus for implantation.
The success rate of IVF depends on many factors such as egg and sperm quality, the lifestyle of the couple, age, and much more. The average success rate of our IVF is around 70%.
IVF process includes a few steps such as -
- Ovarian stimulation
- Egg retrieval
- Sperm collection
- Fertilisation of egg and sperm in laboratory under specific conditions
- After embryo formation, an embryo is transferred to the uterus for implantation.
An average IVF cycle takes around 6-8 weeks.
IUI
IUI (Intrauterine Insemination) is a process in which sperm is directly placed into the uterus with the help of a catheter. This increases the chances of fertilization between egg and sperm.
The success rate of IUI at Urvara Fertility Centre is more than 70% and it also depends on age, lifestyle choices of the couple, and other factors.
Women who are under 35 years old may need to undergo 3-6 rounds of IUI before considering IVF.
From beginning to end the IUI process is approximately takes four weeks.
ICSI
Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection is a process that is used during the IVF process. Under the ICSI process, a single sperm is injected directly into the egg for fertilization.
ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection) is used during the IVF process to increase the chances of fertilization. During the ICSI process, a single sperm is injected directly into the egg under the specific condition.
The success rate of our ICSI treatment is approx 80%. This success rate depends on many factors such as equipment used during this process, lab facility, egg quality and sperm quality, or other factors.
Around 10 to 12 eggs are retrieved during the ICSI process.
Infertility Counseling
Infertility counseling helps patients to understand multiple fertility treatment options. With the help of infertility counseling, patients can also understand the complications and risks related to fertility treatment.
If a couple is trying to get pregnant but cannot conceive a baby for more than a year then they should seek infertility counseling.
Infertility counseling is necessary in many ways such as reducing emotional stress, guidance related to infertility treatment, and helping couples make informed decisions.
You can connect with the Urvara fertility center for a qualified infertility counselor.
Ultrasound Monitoring
Ultrasound monitoring is an essential tool that helps in monitoring your pregnancy through scans and can detect the problems related to the baby’s growth and development.
Ultrasound monitoring works for an examination of body organs. Ultrasound uses sound waves to depict images of organs, tissues, and other structures inside your body.
Ultrasound monitoring is used for monitoring the growth and development of the fetus, monitoring ovaries and uterus during pregnancy, breast lumps, evaluating blood flow, and many other common uses of ultrasound monitoring.
An ultrasound monitoring procedure may take around 30 minutes to an hour.
Blastocyst Transfer
Blastocyst transfer is the process that comes under the IVF process. This process helps increase the chances of a successful pregnancy. During this process, the blastocyst is transferred to the uterus for implantation.
The difference between traditional IVF and blastocyst transfer is during the traditional IVF process an embryo is transferred to the uterus after three days of fertilization whereas the blastocyst is transferred after five to six days.
There is a risk of developing gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM) in women undergoing blastocyst transfer.
It is advised to take bed rest and avoiding intercourse is necessary after blastocyst transfer.
Laser Assisted Hatching
Laser-assisted hatching is a technique performed in the lab to remove the outer shell of a fertilized egg which is zona pellucida. That means the ‘hatching’ of the outer shell of a fertilized egg. It increases the chances of a successful pregnancy.
Laser-assisted hatching is recommended for women above the age of 37 years who produce a high level of follicle.
As per a few researchers, laser-assisted hatching increases the successful pregnancy rate and implantation rates. The success of IVF also depends on age, lifestyle choices, and many more factors.
If you are facing failure during the IVF process due to unexplained reasons then laser-assisted hatching is advised to increase the chances of a successful pregnancy.
Genetic Testing of Embryos
Genetic testing of embryos is performed to analyze the embryo’s abnormal genetics. Identification of chromosomal genetic abnormalities increases the chances of right embryo transfer for implantation.
Genetic testing increases the chances of successful fertility treatment. This also reduces failed implantation or miscarriage.
Fertility drug reactions such as headaches, irritability, restlessness, and more are faced by pregnant women. Whereas, there are no such risks of genetic testing on embryos.
The alternatives for genetic testing of embryos are noninvasive prenatal tests, ultrasound scans, amniocentesis, and chorionic villus sampling.
Personalized Embryo Transfer
Personalized embryo transfer is the test to identify the period of receptivity by using the ERA test (Endometrial receptivity analysis) to increase the chances of successful implantation. Whereas in traditional embryo transfer the embryo formed after fertilization is transferred directly into the uterus.
Personalized Embryo transfer increases the chances of successful implantation of the embryo and that eventually increases the chances of successful pregnancy.
Under the guidance of our fertility specialist, you can determine whether Personalized Embryo Transfer is right for you or not.
Embryo Transfer Program
Embryo transfer program means transferring of embryo into the uterus. The embryo is transferred to the uterus through a catheter.
The embryo transfer procedure is done with the help of a catheter that contains an embryo with a small amount of fluid that is passed through the cervix into the uterus.
The success rate of Embryo transfer depends on the age of the women. For women who are 35 or less than 35 years, there is a 60% pregnancy rate per embryo transfer whereas women over the age of 40 have a 20% pregnancy rate.
Egg Freezing
Egg freezing is a process through which a woman’s eggs are extracted from her ovaries and then frozen and stored for further attempt of fertility treatment.
The ideal age for egg freezing is between 25 to 35 years.
Infertility Treatments
Common causes of infertility are lack of regular ovulation, poor quality of egg, blocked or damaged fallopian tubes, endometriosis, and other reasons behind female infertility whereas the poor quality of sperm, varicocele, Undescended testicles, and other causes are behind male infertility.
Several Infertility treatments help increase the chances of successful pregnancy. Our fertility treatment has success rates as high as 70% per cycle.
Management for recurrent IVF failure
It is a clinical process through which a lack of implantation takes place after the transfer of several embryos. Women who had three failed in vitro fertilization are also facing recurrent IVF failure.
There are several treatment options for recurrent IVF failure such as Diagnostic and therapeutic laparoscopy, preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidies, improving endometrium receptivity, and other options.
Surrogacy
Surrogacy is a process through which a woman gets artificially inseminated with the father’s sperm and then carries the baby into her womb. Late on she delivers it to another woman and his partner who want to raise that baby.
Opting for surrogacy is a choice made by the couple when women are unable to conceive or carry a baby on their own.
Fertility Preservation
Fertility preservation is a process through which sperm or egg is preserved so that you can them in future to have a baby.
No, Fertility preservation does not give a guarantee of future fertility but gives the ability to conceive in the future.
Embryo Glue
Embryo glue is a hyaluronan-enriched embryo transfer medium that increases the chances of successful implantation of the embryo.
For patients who are facing recurrent implantation failure in such conditions, embryo glue can be used during the IVF process.
